The Total raised for the 'Save Our Southend United Appeal' is £6411.80.
The Shrimpers Trust Committee would like thank all supporters for their generousity during this difficult period. The money raised for the Save Our Southend appeal will be ring-fenced as part of a designated Fighting Fund for the immediate future and will not become part of the larger Shrimpers Trust finances. However, we would like to confirm that, should Southend United be faced with extinction in years to come, all monies gathered since the establishment of the Supporters Club Trust would be used to save our Football Club.
3rd November 2009
The Shrimpers Trust can reveal that the current total raised so far for the 'Save Our Southend United Appeal' is £6251.00.
Once again the Trust Committee would like to thank all of you who have donated so far.
31st October 2009
The Shrimpers Trust has been amazed by the generosity of Southend United supporters since the launch of a designated fighting fund on Thursday morning. Donations made on the Shrimpers Trust website have already raised £1,725 in just two days, and have been made not only by Shrimpers fans but those from right across the world. Our thanks go to everyone who has donated already and remind anyone that wishes to follow in their footsteps that they can do so by clicking here. In addition, the decision was made to raise further money through a bucket collection held at the Coca-Cola League One fixture against Gillingham on Friday night in case we face a worse-case scenario on Wednesday. This decision was not taken lightly, but we are extremely grateful to all those who volunteered to help on the night by shaking a bucket. The incredible and overwhelming support of those in attendance means that a further £4,131.80 was contributed on the night by supporters at the match, including those from Gillingham. We would like to thank every single person who contributed to this total. Of course, the amount raised so far, £5,857.00, is a small drop in the ocean compared to the figure required to keep our club from going into Administration but, should the worst happen in the coming days, we will launch a series of further fundraising actitivities. It is important once again to stress that the money contributed is going directly to the Shrimpers Trust, and not to Southend United FC or Ron Martin. We will liaise with Supporters Direct about the best use for this money. |
