And look out  shortly for a chance to bid on a unique Alan Moody Framed Print, details of which will appear on the Trust Website and other Social Media platforms tomorrow.

Once again the footballing community generosity shows no bounds.
The total raised so far is now just £80 short of the £6k mark - a remarkable achievement.

As well as the continuing online donations the cricket match held on Sunday raised £672.00.

There is still the chance to bid for Adam Barrett's Signed Boots by clicking here with the current highest bid still at just £20.00.

The Southend fans truly did themselves proud on Saturday with their response to the Moody Blues campaign. A notable contribution was also generously made by the visiting Plymouth Argyle supporters.

A total of £3,146.17 in cash donations (plus a plectrum and various foreign coinage!)  was received on the day, to bring the total raised in tribute to Alan so far to £4,951.17

It is anticipated that there will be some further additions to this sum too - a group of fans are holding cricket match today with a raffle to help raise funds, and an auction of a specially commissioned print will be announced shortly.

There  is also currently an on-going auction for a pair of signed Adam Barrett Boots, details of which can be found here.

The online donation facility will remain open until the end of August so if you still wish to make a donation please do so by clicking the Donate Button  where you will be taken to the main Moody Blues Page.

There was never any target set, the Shrimpers Trust were just looking to raise as much as they could to go towards the cost of a specially adapted car to meet Alan's needs. However, this response has far exceeded any initial expectations, and we understand from a call made to Alan's family after the game that he is overwhelmed by what is being done.

We salute you all, and look forward to welcoming Alan and his daughter Claire to our next home match against Rochdale on Saturday 2 September.

17th August 2017

Once again it's amazing how supporters far and wide pull together when needed.

Since our last update just 4 days ago the total raised so far for Alan has reached the £1,500 mark with £1,540 donated so far.

This is fantastic but if you haven't done so please do donate by clicking the Donate Button  where you will be taken to the main Moody Blues Page, and don't forget you can always give at the games vs Plymouth Argyle on Saturday as there will be plenty of buckets around before the game which you can throw your loose change in.

Further updates will be posted in the coming days.

13th August 2017

The Shrimpers Trust has been amazed by the generosity of Southend United supporters since the launch of the Moody Blues Fundraiser on 7th August.

The Fundraiser, which was kicked off with a £250 donation from the Shrimpers Trust has already reached the £1,000 mark in just six days, and donations have been made not only by Shrimpers fans in the UK but from across Europe as well.

And donations have also been made from supporters of Middlesbrough FC who Alan also played for.

Our thanks go to everyone who has donated already and remind anyone that wishes to follow in their footsteps that they can do so by clicking here.

There will also be a chance to donate at the Home Game vs Plymouth next Saturday 19th August when a bucket collection is being held.

Further updates will be posted in the coming days.
