The Shrimpers Trust operate coaches to all away games on behalf of Southend United Football Club. The objective is for us to break even at the end of each season, and the scheme will be run on a not for profit basis. All Trust Members, along with Southend Junior Shrimper Members, Students and Concessions can travel at a reduced fare.
We will again be starting off from Roots Hall, which is accessible to all with ample parking. We then pick up from the Elms in Leigh, Hadleigh Church, Tarpots in Benfleet, the Watermill in Basildon. and then the Fortune of War, Laindon.
Whilst SBC have put their prices up quite considerably this season this is the first rise in my time as travel organiser and unsurprising given the huge rise in fuel costs in recent years. Despite this we have held our prices in line with last season apart from a couple of games.
New for this season is an Accompanied Juniors Discount. Any Junior Traveller under the age of 16 who is accompanied by an Adult paying the full fare will Travel for just £10 (or under if the standard Junior Price is lower) to any game.
Also new for this season, we will be holding a sweepstake on every coach so that one traveller will be getting their travel free for that particular game.
We will also be providing free refeshments on all our coaches courtesy of Alpine Insurance where Trust Memmbers can get free legal fees cover worth £17.50 on any new motor Insurance policy effected on production of Valid Membership Card (visit the Members Area of this Website for further details).
