Well not quite…. but at the Shrimpers Trust AGM in October a shuffling of the guard was performed.
Terry Jeffreys our Secretary has sadly taken a breather and Trevor Bashford until October our Chairman has taken on that role. Trevor has therefore stood down as Chairman a role he has held for 7 years where we have seen Southend United’s fortunes fluctuate wildly both on and off the pitch. During his successful tenure the Trust Membership has grown in number from around 300 to over 1400.
I have been privileged to work with Trevor as Vice Chairman during that time and hope that I will be as successful as he has been.
In reality due to work commitments Trevor and I were already performing a very similar role, both of us find ourselves working across the pond, Trevor in Belfast and me in Dublin every week, our joint involvement in committee meetings was rare although generally speaking one of us would attend and clearly with the continuing use of the Internet and e-mail it is not hard to keep in touch.

The Trust is committed to the future of Southend United football club and does what it can to help finance some of its activities where otherwise those activities would not be possible – particularly in the area of youth development.
