Society Social Media Lead: Vacancy

Job Specification
The Social Media Lead is a key role within the Trust, responsible for cultivating a strong, positive presence in the digital media space and among the public. This role requires creativity, strategic planning, and the ability to articulate the Trust’s objectives, achievements, and news in a way that engages and informs.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Strategy & Planning: Run point on the Trust’s social media accounts, maintaining activity and content calendars aligned with the Trust’s objectives.
- Content Creation: Oversee the production of engaging copy, images, and/or short-form videos optimized for platforms like X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn, working closely with the Trust’s Graphic Designer.
- Membership, Fanbase & Community Engagement: Foster meaningful online relationships by responding to comments, direct messages, and tracking Trust sentiment.
- Analytics & Reporting: Monitor platform algorithms and engagement metrics, to report back at Board meetings and to continually refine our approach for impact.
- Trend Management: Staying up-to-date with the latest social media trends and digital technologies.
- Social Impact Marketing: Liaise with other Board members and external stakeholders to highlight the Trust’s initiatives, projects and partnerships.
Experience in running social media accounts and using social media tools is strongly desired, alongside strong copywriting and storytelling skills, and a keen eye for visuals and tone.

The role is available on an unpaid volunteer basis, and the successful person would be co-opted onto the Board to fill a technical skill gap, with the opportunity to run for election to become a full Board member in the future.
