Jamie Dennis was one of an influx of players signed on two--year scholarships in the summer of 2008…
The first-year was snapped up as a 16-year-old, having spent the previous two campaigns at Boots & Laces and impressing from the centre of midfield as the captain of the Under-16s team.
A mature player, he made three appearances for the Under-18 team during 2007/8 as he started to step up into the elder age group, and the midfielder quickly established himself in the centre of the park this term as Stuart O’Keefe made the step up to the reserve and first-team.
Dennis is comfortable on the ball and is often able to pick out the right pass, qualities that he has used to good effect in linking up with Merrick James-Lewis in the centre of the Shrimpers’ diamond.
